Privacy Policy

1. Overview

SMPLNVST is a simulated stock market platform for educational purposes, operated by SMPLPXLS LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information when you use smplnvst.com or our mobile applications.

The SMPLNVST simulation itself does not involve real money, real trades, or real brokerage accounts — your portfolio and balance within the app are entirely virtual. We do, however, collect and process payment information through our subscription billing providers when you subscribe to the Service; see Section 2 for details on what is and isn't collected.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide the service:

• Google account information: When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google. We do not receive your Google password or access to any other Google services.
• Simulated portfolio activity: All trades, watchlist items, and portfolio data you create within the app are stored and associated with your account.
• Subscription and billing information: If you subscribe to SMPLNVST, our payment partners (Stripe for the web; Apple for iOS) collect and process your payment details. We never see or store your full payment card number, bank account number, or security code. Our subscription provider (RevenueCat) shares with us only what we need to grant access to paid features: your subscription status, the plan you're on, your renewal date, and (for web subscriptions) the last four digits of the card on file.
• Usage data: Basic technical information such as your device type, browser, and general usage patterns may be collected to help us improve the app.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to:

• Create and manage your SMPLNVST account
• Save and display your simulated portfolio, watchlist, and activity
• Process subscription billing, grant access to paid features, and manage the lifecycle of your subscription (trial, renewal, cancellation, refund)
• Improve the performance and features of the platform
• Communicate with you about important changes to the service, including billing notifications and subscription renewal reminders

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Third-Party Services

SMPLNVST relies on the following third-party services to operate:

• Google OAuth: Used for account authentication. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
• Supabase: Our database and authentication infrastructure provider. Data is stored securely on Supabase's servers. Governed by Supabase's Privacy Policy.
• Cloudflare: Used to host and deliver the website. Governed by Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
• RevenueCat: Our subscription management provider. Handles subscription state, entitlement validation, trial conversion, and billing webhooks for our paid features. Governed by RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
• Stripe: Our payment processor for web subscriptions. Stripe collects and securely processes your payment details directly; we never see or store your full card number, bank account number, or security code. Governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• Apple: If you subscribe through our iOS app, Apple processes your payment via the App Store using your Apple ID. We never see your payment details. Governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. There are three ways your data can be reduced or removed:

• Account deletion (irreversible): If you delete your account from Profile → Manage account → Delete account, we permanently remove your authentication record, simulated portfolio, transactions, snapshots, watchlist, and subscription record within 30 days. This cannot be undone.
• Transaction history reset: If you reset your transaction history from Profile → Reset transactions, we permanently delete all of your simulated trades, holdings, dividend records, splits, and snapshots, and reset your cash balance to zero. Your account, watchlist, and subscription remain intact.
• Automatic reset after subscription lapse: If your subscription expires and remains expired beyond a 60-67 day grace period, we automatically perform the same transaction-history reset described above. Your account, watchlist, and subscription billing record remain intact so you can resubscribe at any time.

Subscription and billing records are retained by our payment partners (Stripe, Apple) and our subscription provider (RevenueCat) in accordance with their own retention policies and applicable law — typically 7 years for tax and accounting compliance. Some anonymized, aggregated usage data may be retained indefinitely to improve the platform.

6. Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), row-level security on our database (meaning your data is only accessible to your account), and relying on trusted infrastructure providers. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

7. Children's Privacy

SMPLNVST is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of SMPLNVST after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
